Robin

Here's a Robin picture I finished earlier today, with some progress pictures which show you how each layer is built.
Credit for the reference photograph goes to my wife who captured this little fellow on our recent trip to Bristol, she was feeding him some nuts at the time.
I used black Uni-Pin Fineline pens 0.05 - 0.3, and Daley Rowney Watercolour paints, drawn/painted on 220GSM Winsor and Newton Cartridge paper.
Cartridge paper is great to draw on but takes an age to dry, and flatten when painting. With my next piece I will use watercolour paper which has a greater absorbency.

Fox

It's been two months since my last piece of art posted, life has been busy!
... anyway here's something I drew today. I drew this beautiful creature in my usual way using Uni-Pin Fineline pens, on cartridge paper, but decided to experiment by adding some colour using a wash of watercolour paint on top of the Inks.
One of my favourite artists/illustrators was Arthur Rackham who was the master of this technique.
I've added some progress photo's of this piece, plus a scan in black and white as well as the finished colour version.
I hope you like what I've done? and I will be experimenting further with colour on upcoming pieces I plan to draw.

Take care

Princess Leia

In 1977 I, like a lot of eager cinema goers queued to see this new film, Star Wars, and what a wonderful experience it was. So many talking points, and so many shining lights, stars were born that day.
One of them was the beautiful Carrie Fisher who portrayed Princess Leia. She was a natural beauty, not a plastic Hollywood icon, but one who exuded pure beauty, intelligence, and fun.
I've been meaning to draw this picture since her death, a picture that's been drawn many times, by many artists. A sad loss, and a life taken way to early. I'm sure her star is shining brightly somewhere, in our hearts, and our memories.
This is my take... I hope you like it?
Drawn on A4 Winsor and Newton 220gsm Smooth Cartridge paper, using black Uni-Pin Fineliner pens 0.05 - 0.3, and Winsor and Newton black drawing ink.

Ocelot

Here's a little something I finished earlier this evening. The Ocelot is such a beautiful cat, one that bridges the gap between wild and domestic, although it is a wild cat of the smaller variety. Such beautiful markings.
Drawn on Winsor and Newton A4 Smooth Cartridge Paper, using Black Uni-Pin Fineline pens 0.05 through to 0.5.

Guinness the Cat

This commission was for this black cat, called Guinness, a great name for a black cat.

Drawn on my paper of preference, A4 Winsor and Newton 220gsm Smooth Cartridge Paper. Drawn Using Uni-Pin fineliners 0.05 - 0.8, with a touch of White Gel Ink.

German Shepherd

Here's the final commission I drew just before Christmas, of this beautiful German Shepherd dog, such a beautiful animal.
